HELLO PARENTS..........

As you can see from all the beautiful photos we have on this week’s blog, we all enjoyed our trip to the farm last Friday.

The children really loved seeing all the animals on Tío Isidro’s farm. They saw cows, pigs, sheep, goats, rabbits, chickens, turkeys,swans, geese and ducks. They also learnt all about these animals – like what they eat and how they grow.

Some children were very brave and held a baby rabbit or a baby chick or a lamb. Others enjoyed feeding the cows some lettuce.

They also enjoyed planting the lettuce in the soil.

We would also like to thank the parents who came with us on the trip and gave us a big helping hand with the children.

Well done to all the children in Miss Caroline’s class who did a lovely assembly this Thursday!

Next Thursday, 22^nd March – Miss Joanna’s class will be doing their assembly for their parents. All the children have been practising very hard and we are sure they will do very well on the day.

Hello again!
What a busy week we have had! The children have begun to learn all the animal names and make beautiful displays in the classrooms. We have painted pigs, stuck cotton wool on the sheep, printed butterflies and caterpillars, stuck feathers on ducks, etc. The teachers have also begun to assess the children ready for parents evening and they are doing really well.
The children have really been looking forward to the trip to the "Tío Isidro" farm all week and they have had a great day! A big "Thank you "to all the parents for their help, without you, we wouldn´t have been able to enjoy the day as much!
The children were so excited to see animals such as cows, goats, sheep, pigs, ducks and swans, peacocks, rabbits, etc. We took lots of lovely photographs which will be in next week´s blog as we didn´t have enough time to put them up this week!.
Well done to Miss Rachel´s class for a lovely assembly! Everyone really enjoyed it!
Next week it will be Miss Caroline´s class' turn and we are sure they will also do really well!. We are looking forward to it!

Hello again mums and dads.

How are you all?

As usual the K1’s have been very busy! If you get the opportunity, why not have a look around the classrooms to see all the great work the children have done and that are on display. The classes are full of frogs, caterpillars, butterflies and flowers and now we are going to start our new topic about the farm. The children will be learning lots of new words, singing new songs and making all the different sounds of the animals. We will also be looking at jungle animals so that the children can discover where the different animals live and be able to say whether they live “On the farm” or “In the jungle”.

To help the children understand this topic better, the K1’s are going to the farm on Friday 9th March for the day – to Tio Isidrio in Jinamar. If you would like more information, check out their web page. This is a great day out, where the children have the opportunity to plant lettuce in the earth, see the animals, touch the animals and even feed the animals too!

Next Thursday 8th of March will be a very special day for Miss Rachel’s class as she will be having her assembly. The children have been practising very hard and are looking forward to seeing their mummies and daddies on the day. It will start at 2.00pm and last for about half an hour.

Hello everyone! Carnival has arrived, and the children are all very excited! All the costumes were amazing, the children looked fantastic all dressed up. In the morning the whole school went to the playground and had a parade. Each class had their turn to walk around, showing off their costumes. Everyone had a great time clapping to the music and getting a lollipop! In the afternoon we had our party and all the children had crisps, cake, sweets and biscuits, then danced and went crazy! A very big thank you to the parents for sending in all the “goodies”.

During the week the children have been busy making flowers, using tissue paper, paint and plastecine. The children are now beginning to say in English the parts of a plant such as leaf, stem, petals. They are watering their plants everyday and putting them to grow in the sun. Some of the children are showing a great interest watching their plants grow and observing the changes each day.

Next week we will be continuing to talk and learn about flowers. The children will have the opportunity to: draw their own flower, print with flowers and make a flower out of plastecine and cut out petals and try and make a flower doing a colour sequence with the petals. We will continue praticing our cutting, trying to cut round shapes and making a carnival mask which the children will be able to take home.

Remember there is no school on Monday and Tuesday next week for carnival. Enjoy the break and the photos. See you on Wednesday!

Hello everybody!!

This has been another busy week for everybody being involved in a lot of different activities related to frogs and butterflies. And if you look around the school you can see beautiful work. Congratulations and well done to everybody! We are continuing with our topic this term which is "Living creatures and plants". So now we are planting some lentils and we will be observing how they grow. We have to take care of them making sure they have plenty of light and water.

We have now introduced number 4 and will continue to recap numbers 1-3. See if you can count with your children at home and in the street, they love it! We are also continuing to learn our colours, this week we are introducing pink and the shape of a triangle.

On Friday the 17th we will be having a Carnival party at school, Children can come to school dressed up with the costume they like from home. We will have a parade in the playground so everybody can see our fantastic costumes and we will be having a little party in the classrooms. You are welcome to send any goodies such as crisps, sweets, etc if you like. A note is being sent out today regarding our Carnival party!!Don`t forget that on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st the school will be closed as it is Carnival.

Dear parents!
The children continue having lots of fun working on the life cycle of a frog and a caterpillar. We have been very busy painting, sticking, printing and cutting and now our classroom displays are looking lovely!
The children are able to follow and understand new stories and rhymes and they are beginning to take part orally when listening to topic stories such as "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". They enjoy saying the new words they are learning such as frog, tadpole, eggs, caterpillar, cocoon, butterfly, etc. and making caterpillars out of plasticine or painting beautiful butterflies. We would appreciate it if you could send some empty egg cartons in to make 3D activities with the children. Thanks.
Next week we will be recapping all the numbers, colours and shapes we have been learning and we will be introducing number 4 and the colour pink.
Carnival will be here soon and a letter will be sent out shortly with all the information you need. If there is anything you need to ask please don´t hesitate to contact the teacher.

Hello everyone,

The children are really enjoying our new topic about the life cycle of a frog and they love to watch on ‘You Tube’ a short cartoon called “Frog life cycle animation”, which is really fun and easy for the children to understand and most of them are already saying the words frog, frogspawn, egg and tadpole! We are also talking to them about how a caterpillar changes into a butterfly and how a seed grows into a flower, so if any of you would like to send your children to school with cocoons, caterpillars or flowers, the teachers would be more than happy to show them to the rest of the children.

We are continuing to work on the colour blue, the shape triangle and the number three and we have introduced some new songs such as “Five little speckled frogs”, “There’s a tiny caterpillar on a leaf, wiggle, wiggle” and “Old Macdonald had a farm” which are full of sounds and actions for the children to do!

Dear Parents,

We hope you all enjoyed the Christmas festivities and had a lovely holiday with the children.

Last week the children were so excited to come back to school and play with their friends and talk about the gifts `The Three Kings’ had brought them. They were all happy to get back into their daily class routines and to start learning new vocabulary.

Our topic this term is about `Living creatures and plants´ and our Role Play Area will change to a Vet’s Surgery. The children will be continuing to learn more songs, colours, numbers and shapes and also develop their fine/gross motor skills.

This week we have started to learn about the life cycle of a frog and to sing new songs like `Five little speckled frogs´ and `Creepy crawly caterpillar´. We are also learning about the number 3, the shape of a triangle and the colour blue.

Hello everyone!
This is our last blog of the term. As you can see every week, we have worked very hard and now we need a rest. This week we had our "Christmas Show". We hope you enjoyed it. It was great!!!. Well done to all the children and the teachers.
Remember school finishes the 21st of December and we won`t be back until the 9th of January.
On Wednesday we will all be having a party in the classroom. Feel free to send any "goodies" (crisps, sweets, biscuits, etc). Also the children can come in their own clothes, no uniform on Wednesday!!

Christmas, Santa Claus, Christmas tree, star, snowman, candle, reindeer this is just some of the vocabulary we have been learning this week in K1! We are very busy preparing for Christmas and making cards and snowmen and Christmas trees for our displays. The children and teachers are having a great time and really getting into the Christmas spirit.

We have been singing our Christmas songs for the Christmas show, the children are looking forward to performing it for you. There probably won’t be a dry eye in the school!

As well as all our Christmas work we are still revising the colours , numbers ,shapes ,and the vocabulary of the family and the body.

Remember next week the school is only open on Wednesday and Friday. We hope you all have a lovely few days rest, and we look forward to seeing all the children after the break for more Christmas activities, glitter and fun!

We like to decorate our classrooms for Christmas, if you would like to send in any decorations with your children we would be very grateful.

Dear Parents,
This week we have had lots of fun re-capping all the things we have learnt during this first term in K1.We have gone over the numbers, the colours, the shapes and all the songs and new vocabulary we have learnt. We have also played lots of language games!
Next week we will be starting on all the lovely things we will be making for Christmas and practising the Christmas songs that we will be singing to you in our Christmas Show.
Please remember to look at the children´s lunch books and read the letters we will be sending over the next few days as they contain important information about reports day and the tunics for your child. If you should have any doubts, please feel free to ask the teachers.

Hello mums and dads.

After Halloween and the trip to the park, this week the K1’s have got back to their normal routines! We’re sure that when you ask your child what they have done in the day, they either say that they can’t remember, or that they have been playing all day! Well, to give you some idea of what the K1’s do, here is an example of one session in the week from each class – PE, Creative, Dance, Free Play and in the Play Zone. Most activities change every half an hour, so as you can see, the children are very busy!

We will also be introducing the colour green, in preparation for Christmas and continuing to work with number two, the shape square and practising singing the Christmas songs for the show in December.

Hello Mums and Dads!

Last Friday, the K1 children went on their first trip to the park in Jinamar. It was a lovely sunny day! They first had their snacks in the picnic area and then walked around the park in their groups, looking at all the tall palm trees, plants, grass, flowers, pond, fountains and rocks. They enjoyed picking up twigs, leaves and small stones that were on the ground. They had heaps of fun rolling on the grass down a small hill. They also sat on the grass and formed a big circle to play with the ball and then lie down and close their eyes and listen to all the different sounds they could hear – like the wind blowing the branches of the trees. Then they all played in the play area on swings, slides, see saw and the climbing frame. As you can see on the photos, all the children had a fantastic time at the park.

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE PARENTS WHO CAME WITH US TO THE PARK. WE REALLY APPRECIATED ALL YOUR HELPING HANDS WHICH MADE THE DAY A SAFE AND ENJOYABLE ONE FOR ALL THE CHILDREN.

This week the children have continued with the colour orange and have started to learn all about the family (mummy, daddy, grandpa, grandma, sister, brother), number 2 and the square shape. They have been enjoying doing different types of creative work and continuing to practise cutting with scissors.

Their singing is getting much better and they are able to sing most of the morning songs on their own. We have also started to learn our Christmas songs for the Christmas show in December.

We hope you enjoyed this long Halloween weekend! It has been great for everyone!
The children had a fantastic time on Friday in the Halloween party. All the teachers are very greatful for all the tasty things you sent in. Thank you very much!.
We would just like to remind you that today we are going on a trip to a park in Jinamar, called "Parque de la Condesa" and we are sure that all the children will have a wonderful time!
On this week's blog you can see how the different classes enjoyed Halloween and next week we will put up the photos of today's trip to the park.

This week all the K1’s have been doing lots of work on Halloween! We made crowns ready for the party on Friday and painted big orange pumpkins to put on them. We have also been doing lots more work on orange such as finger painting and sticking and mixing red and yellow to make orange , which the children loved.

All the children loved the spiders they made. It was quite a challenge as they had to use scissors and cut the legs and body and glue it together all by themselves! We will be doing lots of cutting in class over the next few weeks, as they need the practice! They were all very proud of their spiders.

We have learned some Halloween songs which we sung at our party. A great time was had by all lots of dancing, music, sweets and crisps! Thank you all for being so generous and sending the children with lots of goodies.

Next week we will be doing more work on the colour orange , shapes, body and numbers. On Friday we are going to the park in Jinamar so don’t forget to send your child with the correct colour T shirt.

Hello again! On Friday we had our photographs taken and no doubt all the children will look lovely! This week we will be introducing a new colour (orange) and recapping the other colours too. We will also continue singing songs and learning new vocabulary. We have begun to say short sentences in English such as "Toilet please", "Into line", "Tidy up time" and we know lots of songs and rhymes.

During this week some classes have been doing some cooking and made "yellow" jelly and have spread some "red" jam on biscuits. We had lots of fun and the children were surprised when the jelly turned solid!

Next Friday we will be celebrating a small party for Halloween. During the week we will be making a crown to wear. Feel free to send any "goodies" (crisps, sweets, biscuits, drinks, etc). Thank you!
